Invisalign® Teeth Straightening Clear Braces
- Why Chose Perfect Dental Jamaica Plain?
As a Gold Invisalign® provider, Dr. Beniwal is one of the few Invisalign® providers in Massachusetts to attain this super elite status.
- What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® uses removable transparent trays to straighten the teeth instead of brackets glued to the teeth and connected with wires. Invisalign® provides precise treatment, as digital imaging is used to create the trays.
- How long does treatment last?
Although the actual length of time depends on the individual case, usually Invisalign® will straighten your smile in 6 to 18 months, often less time than with traditional orthodontic therapy. Your dentist will see you every four to six weeks to monitor your progress.
- Can I take them out whenever I want?
Yes! You can eat and drink what you want during treatment. You can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene. For optimal results, you need to wear the aligners about 22 hours a day on a consistent basis.
- How Does Invisalign® Work?
- Invisalign® moves teeth by applying a controlled force to different parts of your teeth during different parts of your treatment. A set of Invisalign® aligners are worn, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
- As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position the dentist has prescribed.
- You will visit us approximately once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
- Total treatment time averages 6 to 14 months. This of course will vary from case to case.
The aligners are made through a combination of our dentists’ expertise and 3-D computer imaging technology provided by the Invisalign® company.
